Peace and Calmness

The one thing we can rely on in this world to give us peace and calmness – is stepping into nature’s world and letting its quiet and beauty enter into our soul.

There is pleasure in pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea and music in its roar, I love not man the less, but Nature more.   Lord Byron

Summer Begins To Fade

The Summer is nearing its end and I truly hate to see it go.  I thought I would share some photos from this very unusual summer of 2019.  We had 15 inches of extra rainfall so far this year – with lots of flooding and green lawns all through the summer – which is unusual.

These crows are looking up as they view summer drifting away.

Hope you enjoyed nature this summer as much as I did.

Early Morning

I am usually still up when my husband retires for the night.  I am up in the early morning for 2 or 3 hours before my husband arises.  Insomnia is a big problem for me. but seeing the sunrise when it appears is the best part of the day.  The sunrise this morning after 5 inches of rain yesterday – was not as colorful as usual, but I can still see the beauty of God’s morning display in the sky.

Anything in nature is a thrill for me.  We all have to agree that God created a beautiful world for us to enjoy.  The joy in a sunrise is missed by a lot of people in the world, because they fail to pause and take in the beauty that surrounds them.  I give a big sigh as I photograph each morning’s sunrise and realize what others have missed.  I always show the sunrise to my husband who would miss it – if I did not show him what I have captured in my camera lens each early morning.

James 3: 17-18  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Capturing That Perfect Photo

I have tried for a long time to capture a hummingbird hovering.  I finally did, but it was not the perfect photo I wished.  But then how hard is it to capture a hummingbird at all.

Capturing this foggy sunrise was a much easier task.  It amazes me how fog can make the sun look as if it were the moon.

This big eyed fly on my Mexican Sunflower sat perfectly still and let me snap a close up.

An early morning sunrise.  I thought the clouds in the lower part of this sunrise were quite beautiful.

I chased this squirrel away from my apple tree.  He ran a short distance and jumped into another tree.

The bumblebees seem to be abundant in our yard anymore.  They do photograph well. They totally ignore me as I shoot close up pictures.

I love reflections in water so I will leave you with this photo.
