Our preacher (Wayne) had a fantastic sermon Christmas morning. The title of his sermon was the title of this post – “Meditate On These Things.”
We all really need to slow down long enough to meditate on God’s word.
Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.
True – Psalm 19:7 – “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:” . . .
Noble – I Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people,” . . .
Just – Romans 1:17 – For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Pure – Matthew 18:4 – Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Lovely – Genesis 1:31 – Then God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good.” . . .
Of Good Report – Proverbs 25:25 – As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country.”
Virtue – I Peter 3:4 – Rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with incorruptible beauty of a gentle spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
Praiseworthy – Revelation 5:12 – In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”
S0- Take time each day to – MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS. Give God the glory and praise, He deserves, each day of your life.
