In a few weeks we will be picking blueberries and blackberries for hours and weeks. Our daughter, granddaughter, and friends from church help with the picking and reap the harvest. No one minds picking the blackberries, because they are thornless.
The Muscadine grapes are just beginning to put on their clusters of grapes.
The garden is slow this year due to cloudy and rainy days. We have had several bad garden years in a row. You can see from the photo below that the blueberries are doing well.
My husband has tried to keep the vines on these blackberries tied in place. I can never remember the name of this blackberry, but the berries are huge and very tasty. We have joked for years about my husband growing enough to feed everyone for miles around.
